"Every confrontation is a prayer, you just have to know which god you're praying to."
- Nat Berhe
On a field of pure, scorching red, a black bull and a matador in gold and teal face each other in a moment of absolute stillness, the animal's golden horn nearly touching the man's bowed temple. The composition is stripped to its essential duality: power and submission, life and sacrifice, the body's beauty and its fragility. It reads less as spectacle than as communion, two figures locked in a ritual older than language.
