A massive skull fills the horizontal canvas, rendered in white, grey, and pale aqua, its left eye socket a deep cavity of crimson and shadow. A single bold slash of yellow cuts diagonally across the form, electric, irreverent, alive against the cold geometry of death. The red field bleeds in from the upper left. Berhe's memento mori is neither morbid nor peaceful; it is alert, urgent, daring the viewer to look and not look away.
