"All of it came down at once, the grief, the color, the relief."
- Nat Berhe
A monumental 60" x 72" pour of color moves vertically down the canvas in curtains of teal, magenta, crimson, pink, and white, as if the entire spectrum has been released from some great height. The work suggests waterfall, rainfall, and the kind of uncontrollable feeling that arrives when you finally let go. Translucent layers build luminosity at the center, while warmer oranges and greens root the edges. Colorfall is perhaps the most purely joyful work in Berhe's practice, rapturous, overwhelming, free.
