Channel Zero

"They fed us channels and called it choices."
- Nat Berhe

A suited figure reclines with a vintage television set for a head, one arm raised as if preaching or conducting, against a field of molten amber gold split by a black void on the right that contains indistinct, unsettling forms. The TV emits a white glow from its antenna while the dark half of the canvas quietly devours the scene. Equal parts Basquiat-era critique and surrealist allegory, this 40" x 30" work dissects media, control, and the bodies wired to receive whatever signal the screen decides to send.
